Small Makhtesh Nature Reserve

Small Makhtesh Nature Reserve

Makhtesh Hatzera (The Small Crater) - the most complete of the Negev craters.
Its shape is almost round with a diameter of about 7 kms.

The crater walls are some 400 meters and the Makhtesh is drained by Nahal Hatzera.

There are rocks by the entrance to the crater set at a 90 angle - an amazing sight.
