
The Ein Yael Open Museum is located on site, in natural surroundings, at Nahal Refaim in Jerusalem.
Ancient terraces, a string, orchards, patches of irrigated and non-irrigated patches of agricultural land, and agricultural tools appear throughout the site, ushering visitors info the world of those who lived in the Land of Israel in the times of the Bible and Mishnah. Visitors are invited to get acquainted with daily life in those periods, by utilizing methods and materials used throughout history.
The archaeological relics found at Ein Yael – the Roman villa, the bath-houses and the impressive mosaics – all come alive in variety of workshops and activated aimed at reconstructing ancient crafts and agriculture.
Visitors get a taste of such crafts as weaving, pottery, mosaic making, fresco painting, production of aromatic oils, reconstruction of ancient building techniques, production of paper and ink, rope-making, building ancient musical instruments, and more.
