Throughout its enchanting streets, old synagogues and sites stand still, whispering hundred years old secrets. One site in particular is the china doll museum, created by Mila Rosenfeld.
The time needed to create a doll, depending on the complexity of details, is three months to two years. All details of Mila’s dolls are historically accurate. At this day the china dolls museum holds more than one hundred dolls on display. Gathered in four unique groups, the china dolls are shown with royal European wear, style of different nations, clothes which reflect upon historical Judaism and famous historical figures. To create a full picture the style and surroundings coincide with each historical era.
The dolls are made of high-quality porcelain and are all hand-made unique pieces. They are in exact proportion to the human body (1:4) and all body parts are movable.
All the costumes are historically based and are handmade, including embroidery, trimming and decoration.
At the present time Mila is working on a series of historical personalities.
Besides doll-making, Mila also makes unique articles from ceramics, which can be purchased in the museum.
