The Petach Tikva Museum of Art is an active museum of Israeli modern and contemporary art. Its exhibitions examine a wide variety of issues and themes in the Israeli artistic and cultural field, in diverse media: painting, sculpture, architecture, video, installation and performance art. There are approximately 3,000 works in the museum`s collection, reflecting the development of Israeli art since the 1920s. The collection includes several rare collections, and is a resource for exhibitions in other museums in Israel and abroad, as well as in public establishments, such as the Presidential residence.
The museum aims to be an active, vibrant meeting-place, contributing to the development of a community of young artists while also exhibiting veteran artists, and encouraging encounters in the field of theory and culture criticism. The museum`s educational wing, run by art educators and active artists, offers extensive activities, fostering new generations of art lovers and contributing to culture-community relations.
