Dormition Abbey

Benedictine Order of the Catholic Church, built by Kaiser Wilhelm the second at the beginning of the last century.

Dormition Abbey is located on Mount Zion, this massive church resembles a mighty fortress with a high, domed belltower and conical dome.

According to Christian tradition, Mount Zion is the place where the Virgin Mary, Mother of Christ, is said to have fallen asleep for the last time, just before she was taken into Heaven along with her soul after her sleep, which is also called the Assumption of Mary.

In Kripte is dormant Virgin Mary sculpture, made of wood and ivory.
