The Baptismal Site - Yardenit

"And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.
And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:
And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. (Mark, Chapter 1, 9-11)

The Baptismal site - Yardenit is located on the south shore of Lake Kinneret (Sea of Galilee), in a place where it derives from the river Jordan.

According to tradition, in the Jordan River Jesus baptized John.
The site was established with the aim of Kibbutz residents - allow any beliver to be baptized in the holy waters of the Jordan River.
